The NHS pharmacy contraception service
You may be able to start or continue the contraceptive pill through the pharmacy without visiting your GP for a prescription. The pharmacist will discuss your health and check which options are suitable.
The NHS service is free for eligible patients. Contact us to arrange a consultation.
Private contraception services
Private options are also available, including emergency contraception. Our pharmacist will discuss the NHS and private options that are appropriate for your circumstances.
Private services are chargeable. We will explain availability, any age or clinical restrictions and the cost before you decide.
Emergency contraception
If you need emergency contraception, contact us as soon as possible. The pharmacist can assess whether an emergency contraceptive pill is suitable or advise on another service, including where an intrauterine device (IUD) may be available.
We offer NHS emergency contraception subject to service criteria, alongside a private service. The pharmacist will explain your options and any costs.
Please call or visit promptly rather than waiting for a routine appointment. If we’re closed, use NHS 111 to find appropriate care.
Space to speak privately
Ask for a confidential conversation in our consultation area. You can discuss sensitive questions without having to explain them at the counter.
